Two workshops about raising multilinguals are offered annually at ISB for all interested parents.
The first workshop covers reasons to maintain native language; classes and resources available at ISB; and the importance of a family language plan.
The second workshop covers how families can promote literacy and rich conversation in daily life, in support of the family language plan.

What is Translanguaging?
On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, ISB welcomed Dr. Cecilia Espinosa and Dr. Laura Ascenzi-Moreno to lead a parent workshop called Translanguaging: Why is this an important topic for my family?
Drs. Espinosa and Ascenzi-Moreno are the authors of Rooted in Strength: Using Translanguaging to Grow Multilingual Readers and Writers. In this one-hour workshop, they introduced the concept of translanguaging to ISB parents.
