Here are four resources shared at the recent Raising Multilinguals: How? parent workshop, which may help parents of multilingual children. (Click to enlarge!)
- The Native Language @ ISB blog lists several websites useful for parents of multilinguals. See the Bookmarks (at right if viewing on a computer; below if viewing on a smartphone). Also, if you subscribe to the blog, you will receive emails about language happenings here at ISB.
- The academic language glossaries here, at New York University’s Metropolitan Center for Equity and Research on the Transformation of Schools, may help you support your child’s ISB schoolwork in your native language. ES, MS, and HS glossaries are available for many subjects in many languages.
- The parent guides Doing Mathematics with Your Child, Kindergarten to Grade 6 and Reading and Writing with Your Child, Kindergarten to Grade 6 by the Ontario Ministry of Education are also helpful for supporting schoolwork. Available in 14 languages.
