Have a Wonderful Holiday!
The Main Library is finishing up with a flurry of activity. While we had high school students working and cramming for the exams that they took right before break we saw many of them working together, supporting each other, and generally being just great kids. We wish them all the best of luck. We also so All of the Grade 10 Science classes to take part in a Virtual Reality experience produced by National Geographic.
This was really one of the best experiences we have seen. Students came in with the intent of looking at what a polar environment might look like for humans. If you want to check it out here is the National Geographic production by Paul Nicklen, Antartica: A Virtual Reality Exploration. It really is amazing and the students were blown away by what they saw and did. Througout their experience they had to capture images of the landscape and animals. It was good fun.
We hope to have many more experiences like this in the future. We also had tons of classes in getting books for the holiday so all the students should have something to read. Encourage them to get off of their tech for a bit over break and engage in some other kind of experience, be it reading a book, walking, or just talking with others.
We hope you have a wonderful holiday. Take some time to relax, and rejuvinate as we move into what we hope will be a new and more positive year. See you in 2022! Take care.
Warmest Regards

Bell’s Recommendation
The Disappearing Act by Catherine Steadman
This was a very exciting book. An up and coming actor, Mia, has just found out her husband is leaving her and life is a bit rough. On the upside she is headed to sunny Los Angeles to audition for some major roles and her stock is on the rise. At the some time something mysterious happens and she is thrown into investigator mode. This book gives some insight into how Hollywood works and some of the things that actors must do as they prepare for roles in the future. It also makes you wonder how the investigations take place. This is the perfect book for taking a break and on holiday.
