News from the PTA : Staff Appreciation Cookies, November 14, 2019
It’s that time of year when we show our ISB staff just how much we really appreciate them.

The PTA is requesting 2-3 dozen baked cookies from each family. Please make cookies no larger than 2-inch diameter so they will fit in the packaging. You can bake any kind of cookies but remember NO NUTS!

We do hope to have enough cookies for each staff member to enjoy 4 cookies for morning tea! Our goal is 3,000 cookies, which is quite a lot so we need all the help you can give!

A table will be available for cookies drop-off from 7 AM on Thursday, November 14 in front of Panther or in the MPB 3 room. All cookies should be dropped off between 7.00-9.00 hrs.

Our Teachers, Instructional Assistants, Epicure Staffs, Guards, Bus Drivers, Nurses, Classified Staff and many more look forward to these sweet treats we will provide! It is such a lovely compliment from our ISB parents.

Let us know how many cookies you can bring by filling in the sign-up sheet here or follow the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AjTxGe9UJi0MUolWikZQaOrlAdVcvuLO20muQ29u388/edit?usp=sharing

Any other queries, please contact PTA Hospitality board members, Hling or Tem at Pta-hospitality@isb.ac.th

(Repeat) Second Chance Bangkok Clothing Drive

Grade 3 will be collecting unwanted, used ISB uniforms and any other gently used clothing or household items for our Second Chance Bangkok partners November 4th through November 14th. Please bring in any unwanted items you have and put them in the wooden box located in the G3 quad.

(Repeat) Grade 5 Musical Production: “Little Red: A Multicultural Fairytale”
This year’s grade 5 musical production will be our own unique version of the fairytale “Little Red Red Riding Hood”! The story will be told from the perspective of three different cultures, based on the storybooks “Lon Po Po” (China), “Pretty Salma” (Ghana), and “Petite Rouge” (Cajun/Louisiana). The entire fifth grade will bring this tale to life through movement and music that they will be creating themselves! Mark your calendars so that you don’t miss this exciting demonstration of student creativity. There will be two showings: Tuesday, February 18th, AND Wednesday, February 19th, at 6:30 pm both days.

(Repeat) Leaving ISB at the End of the First Semester?
Parents of students who are not returning to ISB after Semester 1 need to notify the ES Office, K. Ann (naiyanar@isb.ac.th) as soon as possible and fill out the Notice of Withdrawal from ISB Form to enable us to process school records for their next school.  Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

(Repeat) Intercultural Day – Friday, November 22

Cultures connecting through the Arts.
Intercultural Day is a ‘hands-on’ learning day to celebrate ISB’s rich intercultural diversity. Many of our ES classrooms are transformed by parents into cultural rooms so that our students can celebrate different traditions, food, dress, language, music, and geography throughout the day. With this year’s theme being focused on the Arts, we are excited for how this might influence students’ experiences in the cultural rooms.

A few details for parents:

  • Students are invited to wear t-shirts representing various cultures instead of their uniform or P.E. uniform in the week leading up to Intercultural Day.
  • On Intercultural Day (22th) students are welcome to dress in a way that represents a culture important to them.
  • Intercultural Day begins with an assembly. Parents are welcome to join the assembly, as we are gathering in Rajendra Hall. Parents will need to be seated by 7:45AM SHARP – so that the assembly can begin on time.

(Repeat) After School Supervision
Any elementary school student on campus outside of regular school hours, who is not participating in a school-sponsored event, must be actively supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. This includes being in the elementary Learning Hub (library).
