Early Dismissal – Tuesday January 30, 2018
All ISB students will be dismissed at 1:10pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. On Early Dismissal Days, school buses will leave ISB at 1:20 p.m. Early Dismissal Days allow faculty members and administrators to collaborate and further their professional learning.
International School Assessment (ISA) for Grades 3, 5, 7 and 10
Students in grades 3, 5, 7 and 10 will take the annual ISA assessment on February 5 and 6. The International School Assessment is designed to offer comparable assessment data for students in international schools. The ISA assesses students in the three domains of Mathematical Literacy, Reading and Writing.
Information collected by ACER regarding your child will be used only for the purpose of the ISA program. Any data identifying the student by name will only be provided to the school. ACER’s Privacy Policy may be found at the ACER website www.acer.edu.au or you may obtain a copy by writing to the Privacy Officer, ACER, Private Bag 55, Camberwell, Victoria 3124, Australia.
ES ‘Out of Uniform/Black & Gold’ Day—February 1 and 2, 2018
Wear your Panther Pride!
These two days are ‘Out of uniform’ days in the Elementary School. On PE days, students need to wear their PE uniforms. On their non PE day, students may choose to not wear their ISB uniform.
Appropriate dress guidelines for our ‘Out of Uniform’ days are:
- Pants/slacks/shorts—good condition
- Shirts/blouses—sleeves & midriff required, appropriate logos only
- Skirts/dresses/jumpers—sleeves required, modest length
- Shoes—sneakers, street shoes or leather sandals with back strap
- Hats must be worn all the time when playing outside during recess or during PE classes
ES Explore (ES After School Activities)
This Semester’s ES Explore Program (After School Activity program) will begin on Monday, February 19th.

Registration is open online on Friday ,January 26th (at 3 pm) until Wednesday, January 31st. Activity Listing & important registration information to be found in your child’s Friday folder. The ES Explore booklet is available online and this is also where you register for the program. .
Please Print registration forms along with exact payment and drop it in the red box in the CAO.
Confirmations of ES Explore placement will be available online on February 9th on your child’s Powerschool page.

Season 3 BISAC U11 Track & Field
Season 3 Track & Field practices start on Thursday 8 February from 2:35-3:35.
This is open to students who were 8, 9 or 10 years old on 1 August 2017.
Practices will take place on Monday and Thursday from 2:35-3:35 on the ISB Track.
You can register for U11 Track & Field here. Registration closes on Wednesday 7 February.
The season ends on Saturday 24 March with the BISAC track & field Championships at ISB.

(Repeat) ES Parent Engage! February 1 Raising Multilinguals Parent Workshop
For this month’s ES Parent Engage we are excited to offer a PK-12 parent learning opportunity:
Unlocking the World with a Family Language Plan
On February 1, 2018, from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m. in MPB 1, we will offer a workshop for parents from all divisions (ES, MS, HS) about maintaining students’ native languages while they also study in English at ISB. This will be an extended version of the Raising Multilinguals workshop offered in the Elementary School in past years.
At this workshop faculty will:
- Present reasons to maintain native language, based on research
- Describe native language classes and resources available at ISB
- Discuss the importance of making a family language plan
Faculty will also lead small group discussions of how to nurture particular languages, how to support native language development at home, and how to make a language plan work.

(Repeat) ISB Gymnastics
The ISB Panther Gymnastics club is pleased to offer this semester Rhythmic Gymnastics classes on ISB campus.
Rhythmic Gymnastics routines are choreographed to music, involving gymnastics (tumbling) and dance, combined with the handling of small equipment including a ball, rope, ribbon, hoop, and clubs. The choreography includes a balanced choice of jumps, leaps, pivots, balances and flexibility movements.
Registration is open to girls as per the below schedule without exceptions.
- Sunday: 09h00 – 11h00 – 5th to 12th Grade
- Sunday: 12h00 – 14h00 – 1th to 4th Grade
Please register using the online form here by Wednesday 17th 2017. It is not ‘à la carte‘ so you have to register for the entire semester. It is non refundable except for medical reasons.
COST for 16 classes starting Sunday January 21, 2018
9,600 THB+500 THB registration fees.

The Learn to Swim program will offer 2 sessions for 2nd semester.

Cost is 5,000 baht for a 6 week (12 class) session (K-5)
Cost is 4,500 baht for a 6 week (12 class) session (pre K)

(Repeat) After School Supervision
Any elementary school student on campus outside of regular school hours, who are not participating in a school sponsored event, must be actively supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. This includes being in the elementary Learning Hub (library).
