Hello Families,

Grade 2 is excited to announce an upcoming event.  We will host a Bike Rodeo on May 19th!

What is a bike rodeo?

A bike rodeo is an event whose purpose is to teach kids bike safety skills and raise bike safety awareness.  These events are typically held in communities where kids ride bikes. There will also be other fun activities where students practice bike handling and riding.

What do I need to do to prepare for this event?

Please evaluate your child’s comfort level riding a bicycle.  If he or she is uncomfortable or doesn’t ride very often, it may be a good idea to practice riding before the event.  If your child uses training wheels or a balance bike, he/she can ride these at the event.  If your child does not own a bike or is not capable of riding a bike, he/she should ride a scooter at the event. This will allow him/her to still receive instruction and participate. You may consider borrowing or purchasing a bike for the event. The flyer above has QR code links you can scan to order bikes, helmets, or scooters.  Decathlon has a convenient online QR pay system and usually delivers the next day.  Decathlon has reasonable prices.

Here are 2 local shops that sell bikes and helmets:

Aim Bike – The owner, Charlie, is really knowledgeable and helpful. Near the Beehive.

Interbike – The owner, Khun Jumpot, is also very knowledgeable and helpful. On Soi Samakee close to Nichada.

Getting Bikes To and From School:

There will be a designated area for bikes.  The area will have signs indicating that the area is for the event.  We will have the bikes transported to the event location after drop-off.  If your child does not independently ride his/her bike to school, you will need to help him/her.

What will we do at the event?

Parade Route:

Please contact Mr. Hagen if you’re interested in volunteering for the event.
