Hello Team ๒,

Thank you for your support and patience as we launch our virtual learning program.  We are starting a new schedule tomorrow, January 12th.   The new schedule will provide your child with more opportunities to receive the instruction he/she needs in smaller groups.

What can you expect?

  • Most kids will attend 115 minutes of synchronous instruction and class time each day across 5 sessions ranging from 15 to 30 minutes each.
  • Kids who receive learning support or EAL services will/may receive more instruction each day.
  • Asynchronous activities will be shared and explained each day during morning meetings
  • Students who need extra help or have questions will be invited to stay longer at the conclusion of zoom meetings
  • Opportunities for more challenge and choice will be provided each day within our asynchronous programming

What can you do to help your child continue learning and experience success during virtual school?

  • Ensure your child has a place to work away from distractions and noise.
  • Help your child understand the schedule.  We suggest making a list of the zoom sessions your child attends each day and posting the list near your child’s workspace.
  • Ensure your child attends meetings on time.  Small group sessions are sometimes 20 minutes long, so missing the first 5 minutes can make it difficult for your child to know what’s happening
  • Purchase or create an I-pad stand.  Students need to be visible during zoom sessions…classmates enjoy seeing smiling faces rather than nostrils and chins!
  • Contact Mr. Hagen or Ms. Eide when experiencing difficulty or when you have concerns.  We know virtual school is not ideal and we will do anything we can to provide the best experience possible for your child.

Link to our new schedule – as a google document You need this document if you’d like to use the zoom meeting room links.  Bookmark this document on your child’s I-pad to make attending meetings easy.

Below, you can see the schedule, but the links will not work.  It’s important for students to take note of what reading group and what math group he/she needs to attend.

We reviewed and explained this schedule on Tuesday afternoon, but we know it’s quite complex.  Please bookmark the schedule document on your child’s I-pad.   Thank you for your help.
