Dear Families,
A big thank you to everyone who supported the class, and ISB, during the week of Intercultural Day. We really appreciated it! The kids learned a lot, hopefully you were able to watch their reflections on Seesaw. A special thanks to the mothers of Marni, Louis, Tarah, Sanshia, Papaye, Christopher, Xander, Brooklyn, Cenn, Titan, Kendo, Oaky and any others we have missed (sorry!) for your teaching in the Thailand room.
This week are continue with several units. We are almost finished with our unit on Persuasive writing. This week we are using a checklist to help us understand the parts of a persuasive piece, and to set goals for ourselves. In reading we continue to think about character. Some groups have been working on inferring what a character thinks, this is a higher level comprehension skill. In math, we are building our understanding of place value so that we can read, write and understand large numbers. Your child may bring some worksheets home, if they are not finished you do not need to finish them. They are simply practice we have been doing in class.
Have a great week!
Linda and Ed
