Writing – Today, you will publish and share your book. Some things to do before you publish:
1. make sure you cover has an illustration and the author’s name on it
2. read the book yourself or have a family member read the book to see if it makes sense
3. consider adding an about the author page
Then choose the best way to publish it:
EASY – video yourself reading the book. Hold the pages open while you read like a teacher and get the camera close enough so we can see your illustrations!
Medium – Use the multi-page feature in seesaw to organize your pages in order and record your voice on each page
Hard – Use the book creator app and share the video from your camera roll to this seesaw activity.
Reading-Practice your independent reading today with Epic or a book at your house. Read for at least 20 minutes. When you are finished reading, you may watch some of the videos on Epic.
Science-if you can, go to the store and buy cornstarch for Friday’s science experiment. If you can’t, no worries. We know getting supplies is tricky now. You can always save the experiment to do at a later date.
Math-Watch this video on Regrouping in addition using the dot model. Then do the SeeSaw activity called Regrouping in addition using the dot model. Parents-there is quite a bit of practice work built in for those of you wanting more work. If it causes you or your child stress, do the best you can. Also, we’ve given tips in the assignment to make the numbers more challenging for those who need it.
English Language Learners: In SeeSaw some of you will see a special activity where we will meet LIVE. One meeting begins at 10:00AM and the other at 10:45AM. I look forward to seeing some of you today!! The link can be found in Seesaw under activities. Only some students will see the invite today, so don’t be alarmed if you do not have the activity listed under your name.
