Tuesday March 9th

You will be able to see activities in the seesaw class app at 6am. Thanks to those of you who were able to join us yesterday!

Stay in touch with your classmates

Stay in touch with FlipGrid! Use the QR code to open the FlipGrid, and then login with your student ID. Record yourself telling the class what is going well and what challenges you have learning at home. Read the anchor chart in the grid with ideas on how to respond to your friends’ videos.

Uriya’s Birthday Book

Find the activity in SeeSaw. Follow the directions to complete Uriya’s birthday book.

Reading

Readers make connections to the information they read. See the SeeSaw activity, read the anchor chart and see the examples. Read a non-fiction book, either one you have at home or on Epic. Post your two connections to SeeSaw in the activity. Then, read for at least 20 minutes.

Epic Books also has fun videos and audiobooks for you to explore. You can do this after you do your reading job and read for at least 20 minutes. I assigned a few non-fiction books that I thought looked interesting. If they are too hard, ask a parent to read them to you, or see if you can work out how to hover over vocabulary words to get the definition.

When reading in Epic Books, ensure you are reading carefully. Some of you are going through the books too quickly, you may need to slow down to ensure you can understand what you read.

Writing – Comparison Statements Practice.  Watch the mini-lesson and read the instructions in the seesaw activity called Tuesday March 10th Writing Practice

Math – Complete 2 or 3 lessons.  We assigned a class focus last week.  Try complete lessons inside this short-term assignment.  If you cannot find these lessons, choose other ones.

English Language Learners: (Only complete this activity if you come with Mrs. Rivera for World Language)   Creating Long Vowel Words Today, you are going to create some new words using the long vowel rule we have been learning about. Pick a picture and drag it into the picture box. Next, use the pen tool to write the word in the box. Make a total of 8 words and then record yourself telling me the new words that you have made.
