2nd Grade has completed half of our math curriculum for the year. All students were given a mid-year assessment. This, combined with teacher observations, has given teachers a clear picture of how each student is doing in math. We will not start unit 7 until after Chinese New Year. Until then, we will have 4 days of skill groups to make sure that students are getting specific instruction and practice that meets their needs. Students will visit 2 groups. The groups are: Time and Money, Problem Solving, Data and Graphing, and Addition/Subtraction. There will be no paper homework in math between now and CNY.
Instead, students need to complete some activities on IXL.com. Students should complete at least one activity per evening. The link is now at the bottom of this BLOG. Here are some suggestions for nightly practice:
