Homework:

It’s finally here! The kids are excited and I know you are just as pleased to have nightly homework begin.
The purpose of homework is to:

  • Reinforce skills and concepts
  • Extend educational opportunities beyond the walls of the classroom
  • Develop independent learning habits.

Quick bits for you to remember:

  • Homework should take no longer than 20 minutes (10 minutes from homeroom and 10 minutes from Language Learning Block)
  • It is generally assigned Monday-Thursday and due back the next morning. There may occasionally be some weekend collaborative family projects.
  • Homework may be differentiated depending on the needs of each student. Not everyone’s homework will look the same.

Thank you for your help in supporting your children in becoming responsible by returning their homework folders daily.
If at any time your child’s homework becomes too difficult, there are frustrations at home, or you are noticing that they are not able to finish within 20 minutes…please let me know so that we can make appropriate adjustments for your child.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
