We will have the unit 11 progress check Wednesday, May 29. Teachers will use the results of this progress check to inform our continued teaching of these challenging skills as we move towards the end of the year. Please be sure to use the resources below to help your kids practice along with this jeopardy game.
Unit 11 begins with a review of weight that leads into a discussion about the relationship between weight and capacity. Students will review properties of geometric solids and explore concepts and units of volume. Subtraction of negative and positive integers will also be introduced in Unit 11.
Unit 11 has four main areas of focus:
* To review grams and ounces as units of weight and mass,
* To identify geometric solids, given their properties,
* To review concepts and units of capacity and volume, and
* To introduce subtraction involving positive and negative integers.
