We are celebrating the diversity at our school! One of the ways we are celebrating is by creating a mural at the library and asking all the elementary students to contribute by making small paper dolls that represent their cultural identity.
The Library Pages and their families are contributing by preparing an international lunch for the Elementary teachers and our visiting author Anne Sibley ‘O Brien.
Anne Sibley ‘O Brien is an esteemed author and illustrator who has written and illustrated many books on cultural diversity. Here is a link to her blog-Anne Sibley ‘O Brien
In addition to this, we will be doing a variety of grade level activities in our classrooms to promote awareness of UN day and the purpose of United Nations as well as to celebrate the cultural diversity at our school.
