Please e-mail me AND call the office (6221-1445) if your child will be absent.

It is also very important that if they way your child is getting home changes from what SAS has on record, that you notify the office (6221-1445) and not only email me; I may not see your email by the end of the day.  Thank you in advance!

Schedules

–       Students should arrive at school by 7:55am.  Classes start at 8:00am and end at 2:55pm.
–       PE is on Days 2, 5 and 6.  Please ensure your child wears running shoes with socks.  Crocs and sport sandals are not appropriate.  Students should also wear sunscreen and bring a hat as they may be on the field.
–       Library check out will be on Day 6.  Gr. 4 students may also exchange books during lunch recesses on specified days.  It is imperative that students turn in library materials on time so they will be allowed to check new ones out.

Snack & Lunch

–     Due to a number of students with severe allergies, we are a NUT FREE SCHOOL.  Please do not bring any kind of nuts or nut butters to school.
–       Students should bring a water bottle clearly labeled with their name and ‘4EH’ to school everyday; bottles can be refilled at the water dispenser.
–     Students should bring HEALTHY snacks (fruit, vegetable sticks, crackers & cheese, sandwiches, seaweed, popcorn, etc.) for morning recess.  Students may also bring a light snack/breakfast to eat on the playground before class starts in the morning if they wish.  Sugary snacks (Oreo cookies, chips, Pocky, kit kat) and sugary drinks are discouraged.  Both children and adults are much happier and more productive when nourished.
–       Students can choose to bring their own lunch or purchase one from the cafeteria.  Please check the menu to make sure your child will eat the food.

Parent/School Communication

–       In addition to emails and blog posts, students will receive a personal planner notebook.  It will be used to keep track of reminders, special events, important dates, assignments and other commitments.  Students will need to bring these to school with them every day.
–      I communicate important information weekly and sometimes daily through our class BLOG.  It’s important that I have your preferred email address that I can subscribe to the BLOG.  This means that each time new information is posted, you’ll receive an email with a link.  I regularly post pictures of special events and what students are doing in class.

Other Items

–       Students should dress lightly and bring a light cardigan to keep at school in case they are working close to the air-conditioner (the temperature fluctuates from hot to cold constantly).  Seating plans will change often with group work and activities.
–       We always celebrate birthdays with a song and a cheer.  Yay!  If you would like to bring in a snack to share, please let me know in advance.  Please refrain from bringing soda, candy and goody bags.
–       To avoid hurt feelings, please do not pass out invitations to private birthday parties at school, unless the whole class is invited.  If you must, then please do so discreetly.
