Thank you to the following parents who spent countless hours putting together the 4EH Book Finder Resource. They worked together with Barbara Boyer, our elementary school librarian, to make a list of books by genre and level that our class will be using to help us in our quest to read books we like that our within our independent reading level.
This resource will make our weekly trip to the ES library more productive as students will now be able to quickly locate books that they not only like, but that are “just right for them” in terms of readability and vocabulary.
All students in 4EH know their “lexile” level. Visit https://www.lexile.com/ for more information about this leveling system and also to use the book finder feature. Students in 4EH will be asked to check at least one novel at their independent level from the book resource each week. Reading books at ones independent level is an effective way to increase reading comprehension and other literacy skills. Thanks again to the 4EH parents who worked so diligently on this project!
