Founder's Day Header

SPECIFIC DETAILS:

PARADE:
Teachers, Students, Parents – Parade line-up: 1:10-1:20 Parade Start Time: 1:20
ES: Stuents will line up outside near on the ES playground closest to the school, according to the attached Parade Map. Pre-K and K will line up first at the FAR END of the playground near the auditorium and then the other grade levels will follow in order. Pre K will start (with principals) the parade K will then follow behind Pre-K entering the school through the door that leads directly to “Main Street”( or the main hallway). Once they’ve entered, the ES students will walk down the main hallway (as shown on the parade route map) Each grade will join the parade after the end of the parade passes them. The Pre K and the Kindergarten will lead the parade up into the HS Gym and will enter through the FIRST GYM DOOR to find their seating on the gym floor for the all school Presentation. The seating will be marked according to grade level beginning with Pre-K at the front near the stage. (*NOTE:They will need to leave a space near the front of the stage for the Lion Dance.)

ALL SCHOOL PRESENTION AGENDA:

1:20 pm: Parade begins on the ES playground and proceeds down “Main Street” entering the main hallway at approx. 1:25 and arriving at the gym at approx. 1:45 and gets seated (ES and G. 6 on floor, 7&8 in chairs, HS in bleachers, Parents behind chairs standing)
1:50: Andy Torris welcomes everyone to our “Kick-off” event, introduces Kerry Jacobson
1:55 Kerry Jacobson: Speaks briefly about Founders’ Day. Then he introduces the board members in attendance, Betty Barr and gives intro to Connie Buford
2:05 Connie Buford says a few words on behalf of the US Dept of State Office of Overseas Schools.
2:10 Andy Torris introduces SAS parent and artist Karen Chavet as she gives painting to school
2:15 Andy Torris introduces the SAS Choir and Band led by John Leonard as they perform the SAS Old school song written in the 1940’s and the new School Song written by John Leonard
2:25: Andy Torris introduces the Lion Dance
2:35 Andy Torris thanks everyone and asks the Principals to come up on stage to dismiss the students by divisions (ES first, MS, then HS).  He also tells the parents and staff to join our guest and Dr. Jacobson in the Small HS Gym to enjoy some cake and coffee *

Andy Torris will be sure if the event runs late,  that students do not need to rush back to their classes, all the buses will be held.
