Making Global Connections

A Year 5 class in Sydney Australia has been commenting on our blog.  They want to make some global connections and ask the following questions:

What is your first name? Where do you live? What school do you go to?
Can you please tell me a little about a typical school day?
What activities do you like to take part in in your spare time?

our blog is https://year5rc.edublogs.org/

Please take some time to click on the link to their class blog – scroll down to the post about Making Global Connections and leave this class a comment.

Thanks
Ms H

  1. I teach year5rc in Sydney,
Thanks to Piche who has replied to our questions. I will show the girls in my class tomorrow and make sure that they see what you have said. I really appreciate your help. We enjoyed our international feast day today and Thailand was one of the countries that we have been learning about this term. We even talked to a school in New Zealand via Skype.

  2. Hi Room 231!

My classes and I are just getting into blogging, and I came across your blog. I teach Grade 6 Reading Language Arts classes at Singapore American School, not too far away relatively speaking. I really like your posts, and I’ve already learned a lot from them on how I can help my students as they get started. I’d love to hear more about what you think about blogging and what you would advise new bloggers. We’re just getting our feet wet on our blog (https://edublogs.sas.edu.sg/sriley/, and we can’t wait to blog more.

On another note, there may be more than just blogging that connects us. Like your teacher, I also play the bagpipes. I brought them in on St. Patrick’s Day, and you can see a clip on our blog. My family and I have also been to your school visiting our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Kerrigan. Do any of you know them? We loved your school!

    Happy blogging,

    Mr. Riley
