We are pleased to share that we have received more stock for the ISB new uniform. Part of the new stock includes the shorter versions of the school pants that students can purchase, which we believe will be popi
As part of our efforts to ensure our students are dressed appropriately, we ask that parents support the High School faculty and administration in ensuring your child leaves for school in the correct uniform. Our dress code policy can be found on page 40 of the online student handbook under ‘Uniform and Dress Code’.
As we are in a transition year between the old and new school uniform we are navigating two sets of expectations. For the new school uniform, the expectation is that the shorts and pants are worn unmodified. All other dress code expectations remain the same as the old uniform code.
For a quick summary please note the following:
- For the old uniform: If your child is wearing non ISB pants, they are in the same design limitations as our bookstore pants (smart casual). Pants must be appropriate length (defined as 1/3 of the hip to knee, or no shorter than to the end of one’s thumb tips with arms extended). Tighter pants are allowed however, spandex and ‘yoga’ style sports pants are not allowed. Pants should also be free from larger branding (small discrete symbols are allowed). If your child
- Hoodies and sweaters must be purchased from the Booster Hut.
- Every Friday students will have a specific focused alternative dress day in which they will be able to wear ISB Team-wear, class shirts, ISB club wear or themed dress as per the planned schedule for that week. Our Student Council will be sharing these dress days with students directly in the coming weeks
- Footwear should be comfortable, practical and safe. Shoes must be closed toe shoes and cannot be sandals, flip flops or crocs.
The High School faculty and administration will monitor students’ attire to ensure that it aligns to our expectations. For any student who is not wearing the appropriate shorts, the following procedures will be taking place this year:
- First time warning: Students will be warned and a conversation will take place with a member of the administration team about ensuring either new pants are purchased or appropriate pants worn.
- Second time: Parents will receive an email informing them that this is the second official conversation that has taken place with their child regarding uniform and warning that a third conversation will result in their child needing to purchase new school uniform pants
- Third time: Students will be required to purchase the new school uniform pants and will need to wear them from that date forward.
We hope the above process will help solve the issues we have had for a number of years regarding the lack of length of a few students’ shorts.
