The importance of our community in blood donations is significant. Rh (-) blood in Thailand is rare, where the stock is typically at zero. In the Thai population it accounts for roughly 0.3%, while in those of European / Western descent it is upwards of 25%. With Thais having one of the lowest incidence in the world, donations from those in the Expat community can be very important to us all living in Thailand. If you have any questions or would like to fill out paperwork ahead of time, please reach out to the Health Center or stop by.
For those who previously resided in the UK, Ireland, or France, the Henri Dunant location is now open to donors as well, as the restriction regarding vCJD (mad cow disease) has been lifted. Even if this week is not convenient, consider giving when it may be.
Walk-ins always welcome!
