Congratulations go out to all members of the ISB community for coming together to support our students during their first week of the new school year! Parents sent their children to school well prepared with plenty of rest, completed ATK forms, uniforms, ID cards, and a positive attitude about the changes that come when entering a new grade level. ISB teachers and IAs worked together to build classroom communities and help all children begin to develop a deep sense of belonging.
There’s been positive energy all around the ISB campus as everyone enjoys this in-person start to the year. It’s been wonderful seeing so many smiling faces and having students and their families back on campus as the new year launches!
The most important day of the school year for launching our home-school partnership is coming soon, so please save the date and join us for Open House on Thursday, September 1 at 6pm. Watch for more details next week.
Until then, please continue to reach out to your child’s counselors/teachers to let us know if there’s anything we can do to better help support your child as they transition to their new classroom and grade. “The stronger the start, the better the finish.”
Your partner in education,
Michael Allen

ES Open House – Sep 1 @ 6:00pm
The most important night of the school year is coming soon! Open House 2022 is on Thursday, September 1st and is essential in our launch of our home-school partnership for the year. This is a wonderful night to meet your child’s teachers, understand classroom procedures and expectations, and learn more about the learning your child will experience at ISB this year. If possible, it will be important for both parents to attend Open House, especially if you have more than one child in the Elementary School. Families with children in multiple grade levels might need to divide and attend different classes at the same time. Please keep in mind that this evening is for parents only and there will be no child care provided. Watch for a detailed agenda for the evening in next week’s eNews.
Required Information: Arrival / Dismissal / Safe Haven Plan Form
The elementary school collects information about students “usual” arrival and dismissal plans so they may better support students and families before and after school. Knowing how the student gets to school helps us adapt to situations as they arise. At dismissal, having this information helps the teachers support the students in getting home.
Our Safe Haven procedures help the school provide a safe place for students to be when events outside Nichada can create hazards and dangerous situations for students when school ends.
Please complete this important digital form sent to you via email from Operoo on Friday, August 19 @ 230PM.

About the Panther Native Language Academy
Our after-school native language classes best suit students who are (a) unable to take a native language class during school, or (b) students who need extra support as determined by the teacher of the native language class in school.
A native/near native language is generally described as a language that is used on a daily basis with at least one parent. This is fundamental to ensure that the language can be supported outside of the classroom. We believe that native language learning happens best when students experience a strong home-school partnership.
In the Panther Native Language Academy, our goal is to offer meaningful learning activities in reading, writing, speaking, and listening that reflect ISB’s vision, mission, attributes and values. We aim to keep students moving forward in their native language learning and connected with their peers.
For all students in Kindergarten and up whose families pay for one Panther Native Language Academy class session per week (500 THB/one-hour session, due when the term begins), ISB funds a second session per week if there is adequate demand. PreK 2 classes meet once per week only. External language programs hosted at ISB may require different considerations.
Occasionally, ISB has “hidden multilinguals” whose native/near-native languages are not spoken at home, having developed through a prior childcare or school experience. Families of “hidden multilinguals” who might benefit from Panther Native Language Academy are encouraged to contact us.
Please kindly see more information and our concluding video from 2021-22. Here’s to a language-rich 2022-23 school year!
