Welcome to our Middle School Community
Posted on August 5, 2022 by Dennis
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! We hope that holidays have been restful and that our young people are ready to start the new year energized to learn and interact with their peers and community. We also recognize that travel, the ongoing pandemic, and, for many, moving to a new school can be stressful, time consuming, and all consuming. We are almost at the first day of school now and hopefully the prospect of some school routines and finally starting up the year sounds really good.
We are happy to welcome back our ISB families even as we also welcome our 40+ new students and their families to the Middle School! We are eager to support you and your child making a smooth transition to Thailand and/or ISB. Of course, like every year, we are also excited to welcome a whole new cohort of students to Grade 6 … NEW MIDDLE SCHOOLERS! This can be both an exciting transition and an anxious one. Our teachers and counselors know this and are ready to gently welcome into this new school environment.
Our new teachers have been settling in this week and our entire staff will be in next week preparing for the start of school. On behalf of all of us in the Middle School, welcome to the new school year. We are genuinely excited to start the new school year.
Looking forward to getting to know this new community!

Welcome to our New Faculty

The start of a new school year is always exciting as we welcome new people into our ISB community. The neighborhood around the school starts to have a buzz about it and the first days on campus are filled with making new connections. In addition to welcoming our new students and their families, we are also pleased to have a cohort of new teachers joining the middle school. ISB continues to be a school teachers around the world want to work at, but we consider ourselves fortunate that these teachers have selected ISB among the many top school choices they’ve had.
The middle school is excited to welcome these new teachers to our MS community. We hope you will meet them soon.

Phasing out single-use plastic in our Cafeteria
Posted on August 5, 2022 by Dennis
At ISB we have always worked towards a sustainable future and positive environmental practices. We continue to identify areas in which we can improve our practices. As we come out of the pandemic and can adjust some practices, we are pleased to be phasing-out single use plastics in our MS/HS cafeteria.
We are starting by removing the plastic bags on utensils and covering bakery items.
Plastic smoothie cups will be phased out. from use. Once the existing stock is depleted, they will be replaced by paper cups.
Plastic lids will also no longer be provided, but they will still be available as an option for hot drinks for those that may need to cover their drinks for transportation. As always, we encourage students, parents, and staff to bring and use their own cups (reusable cups are also available for purchase at the Booster Hut).
