Message from High School Principal
Dear Parents,
We are excited to be back at school (in person) preparing for the school year ahead. Our new faculty have already started at school and have been welcomed into the fold and are quickly orienting themselves to Thailand and ISB. We have an impressive group of new (but experienced) faculty joining the High School and I look forward to introducing them to you in the coming weeks.
Speaking of new, we also have more than 80 new students and their families joining the High School and they will be physically on campus Thursday, August 11th attending their orientation sessions. To our returning families, please keep a welcoming look out for our new families as they join our community at the start of the school year.
We are equally excited to be able to start the school year in person on Monday August 15th with more than 615 students in the High School (with maybe a few more joining us soon). We will open the first day of school with a special schedule that will include an extended advisory session and a whole HS assembly to welcome everyone back to school. We will be sharing more details in next weeks Enews and with students directly, so please keep a look out for those messages.
I trust everyone enjoyed (and are still enjoying) a relaxing and restful summer with opportunities to connect with families and friends. We are energised and ready to go for the school year in front of us and we are so much looking forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks.

News from University Counselors

The University Counseling team sends their heartfelt welcome to all new students and families and a big welcome back to those returning to ISB.
The summer was full of rest and relaxation for the university counselors. In addition, we attended (in person and virtually) the 2022 International Association of College Admissions Counselors Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico during the week of 11-15 July. It was awesome to be back in person among colleagues from around the world. Lots of stimulating discussions, thoughtful presentations and collegial connections were experienced by all the participants. We look forward to connecting with your families and being able to share our insights and experiences once the school year starts.
University Visits
University representatives will begin visiting ISB soon so mark your calendars for these events which are already planned:

15 September, Thursday @ 11:00-11:40 am: University of British Columbia, MPB
15 September, Thursday @ 3:00-3:30 pm: Brandeis University, the University of Richmond, Trinity College, and Boston University. Location to be determined.
22 September, Thursday, Time to be determined. Greater Bangkok University Fair. Over 200 universities from around the world will be on campus to meet with students and parents.
Senior Seminars will start on 25 August when the seniors will meet with their respective university counselor to begin the planning for this year’s activities.
Senior Family University Night will be on Tuesday, 30 August at 6:30 pm in the Chevron Theater. All seniors and parents are invited to attend. We are excited to start the year with this kick off event. Counselors will provide valuable information about the upcoming university application process and explain the timeline and procedures for the senior class.
As the year begins, the university counselors are ready to work with students to help them prepare and submit applications to universities that will provide each one with a challenging atmosphere for learning and a supportive community for personal growth. We look forward to working with you and your children during the 2022-2023 school year!

ISB CALENDAR 2022-2023

This year’s calendars are ready, and will be sent home with all returning students the week of August 15th through ES classroom teachers, MS advisory teachers, and HS advisory teachers. The oldest child in each family will receive a calendar for his/her family, with new students to ISB receiving their calendars during orientation. Please find the 2022-23 calendar linked HERE as we have discovered that some were printed with a random missing page. If you receive a misprinted version and would like to exchange it for one that is complete, or if you would like to purchase an additional calendar (100 THB), please swing by the Panther Den adjacent the Booster Hut anytime between 7:00am and 4:00pm daily Monday through Friday starting August 15th. BREAKFAST: Join us between 8 and 11am on Saturday, 20 August for the ISB Booster Club’s Annual Pancake Breakfast, designed to raise funds for Booster Club sponsored programs at ISB. Enjoy a delicious breakfast while reconnecting with friends after the summer break & welcoming new families to the ISB community. For newcomers, this event is a great chance to chat with returning students & parents who can offer insights about life at ISB. There is also a Fair!!!
ACTIVITIES: The breakfast will take place the first Saturday back to school, in conjunction with the annual Panther Activities & Sports Fair held in MPB 1-3 at the top of the zig-zag from 9am-12pm. Come and grab a delicious breakfast and then head upstairs to learn more about all of the exciting after school programs on offer at ISB.
