Campus will be closed to all community access.
Our operational and administrative team met on Monday and again discussed the limited summer programs that are running, school-wide construction projects, projected COVID prevention measures, staffing, supervision, and available resources that will impact campus.
The team agreed that access to campus would be limited to only students enrolled in summer programs, operational staff, two student workshops, and teaching staff who are working in their classrooms. Parents will be limited to business office appointments only.
We know our community values the access to the wonderful facilities on the ISB campus, but they also need to understand that at times, we need to limit access so we can allow our staff and contractors to have uninterrupted time to get all of the work done. We have 7 weeks to paint halls, repair equipment, renovate spaces, service appliances, resurface courts, reseed fields, adjust to unknown government COVID requirements, build a new elementary gym, etc., and it all has to be done before staff return on August 8th.
So I do understand the disappointment some community members may feel, but I hope they can see why we need this time to make ISB the amazing school that it is.
