Each week ES faculty and IAs explore a different strategy, tool or resource that supports our approach to guiding and supporting our students. We use these as we empower students, support their social emotional wellbeing, and instill a strong sense of belonging.
The resource that was shared with ES faculty and IAs this week is copied below. All schools have a critical choice to make in how they perceive and respond to student misbehavior. When we follow traditional practice, we often act in ways that contradict our fundamental mission as a school —to engage each student in high levels of learning. This simple chart helps to articulate why schools like ISB have adopted a Solutions Focused Approach when it comes to guiding and supporting students.
Take a quick peek and let me know what questions you might have…we also encourage families to use solutions focused approaches at home as well!
