Class of 2022

Senior Parent Transition Meeting: Thursday, 7 April @ 9:00 AM in the MS Skybox

The university counselors will be presenting a Transition Workshop for parents of seniors on Thursday next week. Please join us to think about what lies ahead with your senior and give some tips to prepare for that transition.

To enter campus. Parents must:

  • Have a current ISB ID card
  • Have taken an ATK and completed the declaration form on
    • Wednesday evening (4:00 – 8:00 PM) for access Thursday – Sunday
  • While on campus parents must adhere to the ISB mask policy. This means that a mask must be worn the entire time on campus.
  • Parents must follow the physical distancing guidelines as set by ISB
  • Food and drink are only to be consumed in designated areas.  This includes anything you may bring with you.
  • Parents must purchase their own ATK for testing purposes

As our community is aware, cases are trending up in Thailand and it is critical that we are all following strict COVID preventive measures as encouraged by the Ministry of Public Health.  Currently WE ARE NOT extending this open access to other family members / family helpers. If you have further questions, please contact the hosting division directly.

 

US Visa Meeting

If you are the parent of a senior who will be going to the US for university as an international student and will require a student visa, please plan on attending (on campus) the US Visa Presentation by the US Embassy Consular Office on Thursday, 7 April at 3:00 PM in the MPB 1. (Please refer to the notes above about procedures to enter ISB campus.)

 

Class of 2023

Registration deadline for the May SAT is 8 April. SAT registration deadline for the 7 May test is 8 April!  Any grade 11 student wanting to take the SAT in May must register on the College Board website by 8 April. Instructions on how to register for the test and to be able to take it at ISB can be found on the university counseling website on the testing tab.

Junior Led Conferences are finished! Grade 11 students have presented their Junior Led Conference to their university counselor and their parents. This has been a wonderful opportunity for the counselors (and perhaps parents) to learn more about the students. We have enjoyed the time together and look forward to continuing to work with families on the university research and selection process. Looking ahead, the next Junior Seminar will be on Monday, 28 March

IASAS Virtual Fair:  First ever IASAS International University Fair, 19-20 April, 6:30-8:30 pm

Over 100 universities from around the world will be present to speak to students from the six IASAS schools. This fair is dedicated to the grade 11 students at ISB, ISKL, TAS, ISM, JIS, SAS!  Watch this space for the registration information!  

Class of 2024

University Night for grade 10 students and parents will be on Tuesday, April 5 at 6:30 PM in the Chevron Theater. We look forward to meeting with grade 10 families to kick start the university research and selection process. The counselors will be providing information about discovering university options around the world along with an overview of the grade 11 and 12 counseling program that focuses on self-reflection, university research, selection and the application process. We are so happy that our meeting will be on campus and in person! To enter campus. Parents must:

Parent Coffees Continue!

Thanks to all those who joined the sessions this week. It was great to have the opportunity to present to our Chinese community. Thank you to Helen, the ISB Chinese Liaison, for her translation and support. Unfortunately, we have a very low turnout for our Thai Community meeting. The next Parent Coffee will be on 15 April @ 9:00 AM and the topic will be Financing University Studies.  Watch this space for details!

University Visits

On campus university visit: Thursday, 7 April @ 12:40, Boston University will be on campus to meet with interested students.  The presentation will be in the MBP 3.  Please encourage your child to attend if they are interested in applying to the US.
