ISB Update – March 10th, 2022

Dear ISB Community,

Our on-campus conferences went very well today and we look forward to more tomorrow. It was wonderful having families on campus to celebrate and discuss our students’ learning.  We know that the procedures for entering campus can be challenging and we want to thank everyone for their support of our safety measures and participation in these important conversations.

We are aware of 12 students (2 ES, 1 MS, 9 HS) and 3 staff members who have reported testing positive on ATK or PCR tests since Sunday 6th March. Contact tracing has been completed and the school has followed up with the parents of students considered high risk close contacts.

Updates to ISB COVID Risk Matrix

Following additional consultation with officials at the Ministry of Public Health this week, the ISB Covid Response Team has updated our Risk Matrix to better reflect safe practices that also keep students in school as much as possible.

In particular, those who have recovered from Covid-19 in the past 90 days and are considered high risk close contacts may return to campus on Day 3 (with Day 1 being date of last contact) with a negative ATK test and clearance from the ISB Health Team.  Additionally, Covid-19 recovered students and staff who complete a full 10 day quarantine (returning Day 11) and have been symptom free for 48 hours prior, are eligible to return without outside documentation.  They will just need to use their home ATK tests.

Parents on Campus

A reminder that parents are allowed on campus after 3:45pm Monday through Friday and on weekends to watch athletics and other activities. To enter campus, parents must:

  • Have a current ISB ID card
  • Have taken an ATK and completed the declaration form on
    • Sunday evening (4:00 – 8:00 PM) for access Monday – Wednesday
    • Wednesday evening (4:00 – 8:00 PM) for access Thursday – Sunday
    • Alternatively, you can take the ATK and fill-out the declaration form on the date of entering campus which will give you access until the next scheduled test time. (Sunday or Wednesday evening)
    • Please note that if ATK’s provided for students by the school are used for this purpose, then these need to be replaced at your own cost.
  • Wear a mask at all times
  • Maintain physical distancing
  • Eat/drink in designated dining areas only

If anyone has questions, please reach out to any of us listed below.

All the best,

Andy
