Dear Parents
This week, advisory sessions for all grade levels were devoted to the important topic of ‘Words Matter’ and the role that social media and peer influence can play in this area. We talked about the importance of being an upstander (not a bystander) and our students also gained a greater awareness and appreciation of the impact of words on marginalised groups. Do take a few minutes to chat with your children about their experiences and what was talked about in advisory this week.
There is a lot of excitement and energy around campus this week as we prepare to host a community service conference (called ServICE) on campus this Saturday and Sunday. In addition to this conference taking place, we have a number of Varsity and Junior Varsity teams playing matches this afternoon and on Saturday. It is really important for the well-being of our students to open up these opportunities (with appropriate safety precautions) for our students as we move into the second semester.
Speaking of safety precautions please be reminded that we are continuing with ATK testing on Sunday and Wednesday evenings for all students (and faculty) and that parents are required to complete the ATK forms after their children have completed their test. A negative test result and the completion of the form activate students’ ID cards for access to the campus. If you do forget to complete the form in the evening, then please contact us so we can arrange for you to complete the form in the morning. Students MUST complete the ATK test before entering campus.
In the weeks ahead there are a number of meetings and information being shared about course registration for the 2022-23 school year. Please be sure to read those communications carefully and speak with your child about their options for the coming school year. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to subject teachers, counselors, and the HS admin team.
