Message from Andy and Gaby

Dear ISB Community,

I am writing to let you know that Gaby and I have made the very difficult decision to leave the school we both love at the end of the 2022/23 school year.

This recent holiday we had plenty of time for reflection and future planning. We concluded that after many wonderful years at ISB we both feel it’s time to enjoy some new experiences.

We have been truly honored to work at ISB – a special, unique and wonderful school with a long history of educating a diverse student body to be meaningful contributors to the world. We have also been honored to live in Thailand, to experience its beauty, its culture and most of all its welcoming and kind people. Thailand and the Thai people will always be in our hearts and for sure we will be frequent visitors.

We are immensely grateful for the opportunities we have had at ISB. We have met some great people, learned an enormous amount, and feel privileged to work at a wonderful school we deeply care about.

Most of all, we have valued being with our students, our colleagues, and our amazingly supportive community. It is the community that makes a great school and we have been blessed at ISB for so many years.

While we have a campus and facilities that are pretty much unrivaled, it is the people that have the most significant impact on the personal development of students and their learning. The teachers at ISB are phenomenal and you won’t find a more committed and capable faculty anywhere else in the world. Our Classified Staff who support the school, our teachers, students and parents in so many ways are simply amazing and this is why our environment is so beautiful and our myriad of processes function so well.

Finally, I am very grateful to the many parent community volunteers who provide tremendous support to our school and enrich the lives of our students. Our Board of Trustees are also volunteers that work long nighttime hours to ensure the long term interest of the school and I am very grateful to all of the board members I have worked with this past decade.

We still have a year and a half to go and will continue to do our very best for our students. We will cherish every single day and enjoy our time with colleagues, community and the young ones in our care.

All the best.

Andy
