Parent Feedback on Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences

On November 18 & 19, Middle School hosted Student-Parent-Teacher conferences online with Zoom. There were strict appointment times meetings as parents moved from Zoom session to Zoom session. We have been collecting feedback from students and teachers and would like to hear from parents what their experience was like.

Please complete this short survey to share your experiences with us so that we can improve how we communicate with parents.

Attendance for the remainder of the semester

In Middle School (like any school) we value the time we have with students in the classroom and at school. As we have seen in recent years, the impact of in-person learning on both academics and social-emotional development is essential for students’ development. We also know to make the most of every day that we have, because global circumstances could change at any time and force us off campus again.

For these reasons, we hope that all MS students will finish out the entire term with us on campus. We end the semester with a half-day on December 17th. We also understand that families have to weigh in other priorities like extended family, access to vaccines, and possible quarantines, which might mean an earlier departure and missing some school days. ISB is not currently operating Virtual School and any worked missed would fall on the student to use online resources to ensure that assignments or assessments were completed.

We ask that parents inform ISB as early as possible about any school days your child will miss this term or at the start of the next semester (Jan 10th). Please email your child’s counselor (colleenc@isb.ac.th or kevinn@isb.ac.th) and the principal, Mr. Harter (dennish@isb.ac.th) if your child will miss any school time.

We appreciate the partnership and clear communication between home and school so that we can best support student success.

MS students shine at the Shakespeare Tournament

Just before the October break our Middle School Drama students participated in ISB’s first-ever Shakespeare Tournament! A select group of ISB teachers acted as celebrity judges recommending the performers for bronze, silver, or gold medals; everyone walked away with something with one performer earning the All-Star Trophy.

From monologue to poem recital to paired and group performance – we are so proud of our creative and courageous panther performers!

  • Bronze medals: Heather Fong, Ceres Fong, Emily Alexander
  • Silver medals: Akhtar Yusuf (not pictured), Idhaant Basu, Sebi Tranter, Nanya Manoleehagul
  • Gold medals: Kelly Lee, Zoe Bates
  • All-Star Award trophy: Zoe Bates

Repeat Announcement: Withdrawing from ISB?

We know that this time of year means that some students are leaving ISB for new adventures and schools. In order to best support this transition, it is essential for us to know this as soon as possible.

Families who are leaving ISB at the end of the school year need to inform the school using the forms located in the ISB Parent Portal. This helps us prepare school records for your child and with planning for next year and ensure they are ready in time for the end of the year.

If your MS child(ren) is/are withdrawing from ISB, please email Khun Namwan in the MS Counseling Office at sariyam@isb.ac.th as soon as possible, so that we may help ensure the transition goes smoothly.
