Early Release Day – Professional Learning for Our Faculty

This past Wednesday saw ISB’s first Early Release Day of the school year.  Students’ virtual school schedules remain the same on these dates. Early Release Days are scheduled approximately once a month throughout the school year with the intention of providing schoolwide professional learning for our faculty.

This year we are working with Dr. Katie Novak.  Her work focuses on the implementation of inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), multi-tiered system of support and universally designed leadership. UDL is a framework that empowers all students to  become expert learners who are purposeful and motivated, resourceful and knowledgeable, strategic and goal oriented. Katie will be working with our entire faculty all year long as we explore new, innovative ways to design learning experiences that support and challenge our learners academically, behaviorally and social-emotionally.

We started our year with Katie back in August and September 1 was our second session of the year with her.  Our next scheduled Early Release Day is Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
