New Order of Classes starting Monday

As we shared last week, starting this coming Monday, the order of class periods will change to follow our Day 5&6 schedules. Because Monday is scheduled to be an “even day”, we will use a Day 6 order of periods on Monday, August 30th. Advisory will still meet at 8:30 on Monday and teachers will remind students of this new order.

Students have the new schedule in their email
On Friday afternoon, we sent a new email to all students with their zoom links in the order of their class periods. There is also a video linked explaining the change. Parents will also receive this email, so please remind your children of this adjustment that starts Monday.

(Please note that the video is set for viewing by ISB account holders only in order to protect privacy of emails and zoom links. If parents want to view it, they can do so with their child.)

As a reminder, students can always look up what “day” it is and what the schedule will be in the Good Morning Middle School News email that is sent out to students ahead of each school day.

Why the Change?
In keeping with our VS Community Handbook, we periodically change the order of class periods, so that different classes meet at different times. This positively impacts learning by providing more equitable access to the learning. With the current situation of many students accessing VS from other time zones, changing the order of periods will allow for live attendance of classes they had previously only been able to study asynchronously. This change moves the two classes previously in the afternoon to the morning and the two classes that were previously in the morning into the afternoon. We know that there will be some initial confusion due to the change in routine. We will support students as they make this shift.

iCARE

iCare Thailand Foundation is a charitable organisation that is committed to meaningful community development that helps the underprivileged. With the COVID pandemic at a record high in Thailand, they need our help to provide food and supplies to those in home isolation in 7 different slums. Due to the order locking down construction camps, iCare also provides food to 7 different construction camps in need.

A food supply bag costs 450 baht and a fresh produce bag costs 115 baht. Every little bit counts towards helping our communities in need. Consider making a small contribution this weekend during our Panther Run. The iCare donation box is located at the ISB Guard Station at the front of the school.
