After months of holiday, weeks of uncertainty, and days of anticipation, the first day of school is has arrived! We are always excited to start a new school year and if circumstances require us to do that online this year, then that’s what we’ll do.
Teachers, counselors, and staff are thrilled to meet their students in the coming days. Our first day of school will use a special schedule – all students (and their parents) received a specific email with details about this first day and containing all the zoom links they need for the day.
Students also received an additional email with details regarding their class schedule and Zoom links for Day 1 and Day 2 schedules. Please note that the schedule below starts on Tuesday, August 17th with a Day 1, since we are using a special schedule for Monday (see above).
On Friday, we will host an assembly for students to talk about service, athletics, and club and activity opportunities.
Our first weeks in classes will emphasize helping all students settle into the routines of virtual school as they build relationships and community. Teachers want to get to know students as learners and young people. We know that with stronger relationships comes improved learning.
Please let us know if you are seeing any concerning behavior at home, if your child seems isolated, uninvolved. We know that this online learning can be challenging, so we want to provide support whenever we can. The partnership between home and school will help us accomplish this.
We look forward to some time in the near future when we can welcome you onto campus and see smiling faces in our classrooms and hallways again. In the meantime, we will make the most of our Virtual School and get the year started right!
