‘Celebrations and Golf Carts’
Dear Parents,
Congratulations are due to our graduating Seniors who all walked across the stage this week in order to receive their HS Diplomas and throw their caps in the air to signify the end of their HS careers. Although they did this individually, we have recorded these moments to put together into the final graduation ceremony which will premiere on Saturday May 29th at 6.00pm on our website and youtube. Links for the graduation will be sent out next week, but in the meantime there is a great opportunity for all ISB community members to help celebrate our seniors by gathering on the side of the streets in Nichada on Friday May 28th during the 2nd ISB Golf Cart Parade.
Parents, students, teachers and community members are all encouraged to come and stand on the curb/sidewalk to cheer on our seniors as they parade past in a convoy of golf carts in between 8.20am – 8.50am around the Nichada Thani complex. ES. MS and HS classes will not start until 9.00am on that day, so that everyone can join in the fun.
Please remember to wear your mask and to practice social distancing and spread out along the roadside. You can read more details about the golf cart parade HERE and click on MAP and ROUTE to see which way the golf carts will go.
Speaking of celebrations the High School Music department was able to present their BORCH (Band Orchestra Choir) concert on Tuesday evening virtually. This was a remarkable concert, interspersed with thoughtful commentary from ISB students about the pieces of music. This concert featured diverse and often underrepresented artists in the program and is still available for everyone to view via BORCH Concert Link
The other celebration coming up this week is the High School Awards night which kicks off at 6.30pm on Wednesday May 26th. Tune in to Awards night to see which students are recognised for their Academic, Athletic, Artistic and Service achievements.
Once again congratulations and best wishes to our Seniors. We wish them all the best as they ready themselves to embark on the next stage of their lives and make their mark on the world.
Congratulations.

Juniors:
If you have not had a final check in with your counselor, next Wednesday, the 26th, would be a perfect time to do so!! Even if it’s just 15 minutes. Or maybe it’s longer so you can discuss your latest essay draft or research questions. **A gentle reminder: college counselors will not be available over the summer, so talk to them now!!**
Parent Coffee Survey:
Parents! It was a tough year and we were not able to hold the Parent Coffee’s in-person and had to go virtual. We would love your feedback on the Parent Coffee series and what else you might want to see covered. Please take a moment and answer this short survey. The survey will close May 22.
Summer Programs:
If you are wondering what to do during the summer, check out our summer program opportunities list on the College Counseling Google site: Summer Programs
College Virtual Visits:
There are no more ISB college virtual visits, but that doesn’t mean you can’t virtually visit a college or university! Please go directly to the website of the university you are interested in learning more about and see what they have to offer. Remember, you are shopping for colleges, so take the time to check them out, see what they are about and if they are the right fit. Don’t be afraid to ask them questions to make sure they are good enough for you! From TIE Online: University Visits in a Post-Covid World?

ISB Summer School 2021
Maurilio Baron-Toaldo
maurilib@isb.ac.th
Dear Parents,
With the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand and the ongoing closure of our school campus, the onsite ISB Summer School Program will not be taking place this summer. For those of you who have registered and paid tuition already for our previously advertised summer school program, you will be receiving a full refund and will be contacted in the very near future regarding reimbursement procedures.
In place of our previously planned onsite Summer School Program, we will now be offering an optional two-week virtual summer school program at no cost to parents again this year.
Purpose of the ISB Virtual Summer School Program:
To provide students with supplemental academic learning and/or enrichment opportunities, and to provide some opportunities to explore areas of interest through a variety of virtual “camps”.
Dates and Times for ISB Virtual Summer School 2021:
- Opens – Monday, June 21st
- Closes – Friday, July 2nd
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Bangkok time
There will be a limited number of seats available so placements will be assigned based on the order registrations are received and each individual class will only be scheduled if there is sufficient enrollment.
Please note, the ISB Virtual Summer School Program is open to all students enrolled at ISB for the 2020-21 school year. New students joining ISB in August will be able to participate only if there are seats available.
We are aiming to have more details about course offerings and registration procedures available by the end of next week.
Sincerely,
Mr. Maurilio Baron-Toaldo
ISB Summer School Director
