ES Virtual Parent Engage Update
Thank you to the small group of parents who were able to join us for yesterday’s (May 13) ES Virtual Parent Engage session where we had an opportunity to explore some of the ISB ES Summer Resources links as well as review the Grade Level Program Overviews as a source of information regarding the upcoming grade level (PK/KG & G1-5). The session slides are available for viewing here.
Learning Materials Pick Up This Tuesday
On May 18th all ES families will be asked to come to campus to collect their child’s Learning Materials kit from the collection points located at the pickup/dropoff areas of ISB. Families will be invited to pick up the materials Tuesday, May 18 anytime between 12PM-2:30PM.
ATTENTION MONTRI BUS RIDERS: Families who use the Montri bus service are welcome to come to campus to pick up their child’s materials or can complete a digital form that was sent via email on May 13 so the materials can be delivered to their home on Tuesday, May 18.
Virtual Playdates
With the move to virtual school, many kids haven’t seen their friends in several weeks. Virtual playdates can keep kids socially connected to their networks—and are fairly low lift for already stressed parents. Elementary school kids may feel the separation from their friends the most as they have established friendships and are less likely to have their own devices to stay in touch.
- Secure devices for children to use. They may want to have one to one conversations with their closest friends as they would in the playground. Make sure groups and conversations are private and you’ve applied the appropriate safety settings and restrictions.
- Suggest activities to do during video calls. Schedule some activities to do together amongst their regular schedule, like playing a game or setting up a book club or Netflix party. Some other ideas include:
- Scavenger Hunt
- Dance Off
- Story Time
- Art Time
- Show and Tell
- Shared Play
- Parent-led games
Weekly Message From Principal Allen
Your ongoing feedback is essential to our home-school partnership! Yesterday all ISB parents received an email from ISB Communications <communications@isb.ac.th> with information and a link to the new survey platform, Panorama. Each parent will receive an email with a unique link taking you to the surveys for each of your children.
We realize it’s a “big ask” to have you complete the lengthy survey multiple times, however you can trust that we’ll carefully review each and every aspect of the feedback you provide. ISB is committed to continuous improvement, and your feedback will be helpful as we identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Please reach out to me or Debi Caskey, our Deputy Head of School for Learning debic@isb.ac.th, if you have any questions or comments about this year’s comprehensive parent survey.
Your partner in education,
Michael Allen, Ed.D.

(Repeat) PARENT ACTION REQUIRED: Student Tracking Locations
Even during VS, all ES parents are required to login to Powerschool and update their journal for the week, listing locations visited outside school hours. All schools in Thailand are required by the Ministry of Education to have their students/parents keep and complete a daily journal of their whereabouts after school hours.
Logging into Powerschool, you will see a notification to update the Journal:
Each Sunday, complete the journal for the preceding week for each ES child. If you are having trouble accessing Powerschool or are unable to see your students in Powerschool, email ES Powerschool Secretary, Khun Tom <cholthis@isb.ac.th>
