Virtual School Continues on Monday

As you saw in Dr. Davies’ April 14th community update, the Board of Trustees has approved that the ISB campus will remain closed until April 26th at the earliest.  We will continue with Virtual School starting on Monday, April 19th. Dr. Davies shared that campus may be closed for a longer period.  At ISB, the safety of students, staff and community is the number one priority. ISB leadership will continue to monitor the situation, consult with experts and government agencies, and communicate as soon as we know more.

Homeroom Teacher Update – Monday, April 19

Please note that homeroom teachers will share a weekly schedule as well as the daily learning tasks overview for core areas via Seesaw @ 7:30AM on Monday, April 19th.

The ES Community Virtual School Handbook (linked here) includes detailed information about our contingency plans for continued learning when extraordinary events force a closure of the campus. ISB uses a combination of online tools and resources to keep student learning moving forward and keep students connected to their teachers and peers. Virtual School can never replace in person learning; however, we strive to ensure that virtual learning experiences are engaging, based on our learning objectives, and as meaningful as possible.

Weekly Message From Principal Allen

On behalf of all of us in the ES, we hope that you are having a restful, enjoyable, and SAFE Songkran break despite the COVID uncertainties that have continued to evolve.

All of you have received various emails and updates this week informing you of ISB families who have members that have tested positive for COVID, and we know that this has been unsettling and worrisome.  We send everyone in the ISB family impacted by COVID our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery and safe return to their families.   Thank you for your on-going support of these individuals and their families.

Please continue to practice safety measures (i.e. mask wearing, hand washing, safe physical distancing) and to monitor for symptoms. ISB leadership will continue to communicate as we know more information and make decisions, in the meantime, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support of each other.

Your partner in education,
Michael Allen, Ed.D.

May 3 & 4 Clarification – No School on May 4

Please be informed that Monday, May 3, 2021 IS NOT a holiday for students and teachers.  School in session.  Tuesday, May 4, 2021 IS a public holiday for the Coronation of H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn. There is no school for students on Tuesday, May 4th.

(Repeat) PARENT ACTION REQUIRED: Student Tracking Locations

Even during VS, all ES parents are required to login to Powerschool and update their journal for the week, listing locations visited outside school hours.  All schools in Thailand are required by the Ministry of Education to have their students/parents keep and complete a daily journal of their whereabouts after school hours.

Logging into Powerschool, you will see a notification to update the Journal:

Each Sunday, complete the journal for the preceding week for each ES child. If you are having trouble accessing Powerschool or are unable to see your students in Powerschool,  email ES Powerschool Secretary, Khun Tom <cholthis@isb.ac.th>
