Dear ISB Community,
ISB’s Headmistress Usa Somboon one of the Bangkok Post’s Women of the Year
Many of you will have seen in this week’s Bangkok Post that our very own Ajarn Usa Somboon received a really well deserved accolade.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, twenty four “extraordinary women inspiring change in their communities and areas of expertise”, including Ajarn Usa, have been named as the Bangkok Post ‘s Women of the Year.
To her colleagues at ISB and at other international schools in Thailand, it comes as no surprise that Khun Usa has earned this recognition. Khun Usa is a remarkable person and educator whose commitment to international education in Thailand has been unparalleled. Khun Usa has served admirably as ISB’s Headmistress since 1999 and has volunteered her time as President of the International School’s Association of Thailand (ISAT) since 2004. Khun Usa has been instrumental in significantly improving both ISB and ISAT in the interests of students, staff and parents.
Those of us privileged to know Khun Usa well get to witness first hand her numerous personal qualities. Ajarn Usa is very intelligent, astute, kind, caring, loving, dedicated, honest, courageous, globally minded, fair and always committed to doing the best she possibly can. It has been an honor to work with Khun Usa over many years and to have her as a dear friend.
Congratulations Ajarn Usa!
