March 11 & 12 Student Led Conferences

Next week, Thursday and Friday will be used for MS Student-led Conferences. Parents should have made an appointment already. (If not, information on how to do so is pasted in at the bottom of this post.)

Please ensure that you have completed the self-declaration form for each parent in order to access campus. If you’ve been on campus recently, then it has be done already, but would still be required for the other parent/guardian.

In order to stick to our schedule, it’s important that you are outside the room ready to start on time. This ensures the time slot can be used fully. Please arrive early, ahead of your appointment time, so that you are there at the start.

Advisors will make sure appointments end on time. If you need more time to talk, conferences can be finished at home. Please understand that we will have to stick to the schedule in order for it to work for everyone.

While on campus, everyone will have to wear masks.

Due to COVID restrictions we will not be serving refreshments during this time, but the cafeteria is open with dividers in place for seated eating.

information about sign-ups and Student-Led Conferences (prior communication)

At 8:00 AM Wednesday, sign-ups for MS Student-Led Conferences opened up. As always, we used the Pick-a-Time platform (instructions for use).

Click here to sign-up for your appointment (starting at 8:00 AM). If you are new user, you will have to create an account first. Please note the date format for your child’s birthday is MM/DD/YYYY.

Conferences will take place on March 11 & 12 at ISB. Parents should sign up for one 30-minute time slot per MS child. ES and HS sign-ups also go out this morning so that parents of children in multiple divisions can coordinate their timing for coming to campus. (High School conferences are only on March 12.)

Please note that in order to access campus on March 11 or 12, you will need to have completed the parent self-declaration form (this is different than what you filled out for your children). You can complete this parent self-declaration form here, if you haven’t done so already.

We have communicated several posts about Student-Led Conferences in past e-News communication. If you missed these, we encourage you to go back and see them to best understand the change in format to Student-Led. This will not be a time to see individual teachers. All teachers will be hosting Student-Led Conferences as advisors for their Advisory students.

Thursday and Friday – No MS classes

Thursday and Friday, March 11 & 12, are for Student-Led Conferences. Students will only need to be at school for the conference appointment with their parent/guardians. School will resume on Monday, March 15 with a Day 8.

(please note the Thursday, March 11 is Day 7 for HS, while MS is in conferences, so students will have Day 6 on Wednesday and Day 8 on the following Monday).

ES ART WALK (5-26 March)

The walkways and gallery spaces of Elementary school are filled with a joyous display of the art from our grade K-5 students.  Every K-5 artist is celebrated and we welcome the ISB community to come and walk through the exhibition and view the wonderful work. In the Art studio we offer the opportunity for students to create, present, and reflect on their art. We value each artist’s process and encourage experimentation and personal voice and choice within a guided practice. Students grow as both artists and individuals from their successes and failures experienced along the way.  The Student Led Conferences on March 11 & 12 will be a wonderful opportunity for your child to show you their work and discuss the learning involved to create it!  The showcase of our students’ learning in art can be found throughout various ES gallery spaces including the ES art quad, Hub, ES office, Chevron foyer gallery, and the walkway which connects G1 to the Art Quad.
