Lockers in the Middle School
by Dennis Harter, MS Principal
dennish@isb.ac.th
As we have shared, our middle school students have not had access to their lockers to start the school year. This has been part of ISB’s efforts to conform to physical distancing requirements from the Ministry of Public Health. Our hope had been that distancing regulations might change over time, however, we are seeing that they may be in place for the foreseeable future.
As such, we will move forward with a trial of re-introducing the lockers for middle school students. We will ask students to collect and drop off items in their lockers without congregating and “hanging out” in the locker areas. This will require some compliance from students and regular reminders from teachers.
Next week, we will assign and “code” ID cards to student lockers according to the following schedule.
- Grade 6 – Wednesday
- Grade 7 – Thursday
- Grade 8 – Friday
The process takes some time and we cannot collect ID cards for long periods because students need them for campus access and exit.
Upon activating the lockers, we will expect students to keep their belongings (including phones) in the lockers and no longer carry their bags from class to class.
We are pleased that students will be able to use lockers again. We hope that students can do their part to maintain distancing requirements and prevent congregating so that we can continue to use them for the remainder of the year.
MS Student Clubs
We are in the process of putting together our MS Clubs Handbook for the 2020-21 school year. Students have been submitting applications for clubs that they are interested in starting and several of our advocacy clubs have started meeting with their groups and faculty sponsors.
If your child has a question about clubs they can contact Mr. Harter or Ms. Plantecoste in the middle school office.
Inktober is here!

Dear BBSA participants,
Thank you all for signing up to participate in the BBSA league this season! We are all thrilled to get the season underway this weekend with our pre-season assessments. As a reminder, these assessments are to help place students in the correct division and make sure that the teams are fair and equal.
ASSESSMENT INFO:
This Sunday, October 11th, the schedule will be as follows:
*Please note that due to low enrollment, girls hoping to play softball this year are encouraged to sign up to join the baseball teams instead. For more information, please contact Peter Gunderson at gunderpj@gmail.com
**Please note that these are the average ages of participants in each division. Students may be placed in a different division based on safety and skill level.
IMPORTANT: there will be no assessments for T-Ball, Majors, or Seniors this year!
KNOW ANYONE OUTSIDE OF ISB WHO WANTS TO PLAY?
GUEST ID INFO:
If your student does not go to ISB or has not received a guest ID, then please make sure to arrive on campus at least 40 minutes before your designated assessment time to make a guest ID badge to easily get on and off of campus throughout the BBSA season. The IDs will be made in the Chevron Foyer from 11:00-14:00.
DIVISION COORDINATOR INFO:
A handful of thoughtful and enthusiastic baseball and softball parents have volunteered to be coordinators of each division. If you have any questions about practice times, volunteer coaching opportunities, or anything else related to the BSBA, then please reach out to the relevant coordinator!
