Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival

Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the biggest traditional festivals in China, which arrives on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month every year. It was known for the beauty of the fullest,  and brightest moon of the whole year. It was also meant for the family’s reunion. The celebration was inherited over thousands of years and formed as a tradition of life among Chinese people. The festival for 2020 is on October 1st. This year, this event is more meaningful than it has ever been in the past. Coronavirus(Covid-19) pandemic brought social, cultural, economic, political and multidimensional impacts on the whole of global societies this year, and our lovely community is not an exception. Along with the attempts to prevent the spread of virus, the connections between countries and continents are cut off by the now closed border, and the distance between neighbors and even families is extended by the social norms. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a video has been made by some children from ISB Chinese community. They tried to interpret the history and beauty of the day in their own way, and convey the best wishes for world peace, family reunion, health and happiness for all!
