New Early Childhood Playground

Construction of the new Early Childhood playground will start on Saturday, September 19th, and it is scheduled to be open for students after the winter break. The playground, located in the northern part of Field E, will be an extraordinary play and learning space incorporating physical, social, cognitive, and creative elements. Blended in a landscape where we plan to plant and reintroduce trees, plants, and water features, the playground will be integrated into the school’s natural environment.

The playground design process started last school year with elementary school students bringing their architectural designs and inspirations to life in sketches and 3D models. After presenting their ideas to K. Vivat (Playmode), the architect, and sharing with Kompan, our playground manufacturer, many student concepts were incorporated in the final design, including a treehouse and sensory play.

Next summer, other play spaces such as the Big Toy and the hardtop will also be renovated to provide exciting new playgrounds for ES and MS students. These features will include a climbing tower, zip line, climbing blocks, and much more.
