Dear Parents,
The first week back to school has been wonderful and having everyone back on campus truly makes these buildings feel like a school again – a place of energy, discovery, excitement, and joy in learning. We appreciate your help as we worked with our students and staff to navigate our new entry & departure procedures.
There are some important updates that we want to share, hence another message from us this week.
Songkran Holiday Announcement but No Change to ISB Calendar
You will probably have seen that the Cabinet has approved September 4th and 7th as public holidays to replace the April Songkran holidays that were cancelled due to the COVID situation. Because ISB kept those holidays in our schedule last school year, we will not be adjusting our calendar for this year. Please also note that our calendar already has September 10th as a Professional Learning Day–no school for students, and September 11th as a school holiday for all teachers and students.
Parent Access to Campus
ISB parents will be able to come on campus during school days after 1:30pm each day, beginning Monday 24th August.
If possible, please continue to meet your child/children in the designated alphabetical areas in front of school. Further pick up information will come from the ES office shortly.
We are working towards all day parent access as normal and we will communicate again when this is possible.
Please note that we require everyone on campus to wear a mask, wash hands frequently, and maintain physical distance.
We are also working on granting access for nannies and drivers and further details will come next week.
Helpful hints for accessing campus
Now that all students, staff, and parents access campus through the turnstiles, having your up to date ID card or wristband with you and handy is very important. IDs and wristbands are also needed when you exit through the turnstiles. Please be sure that you and your children have these every day to make your arrival and departure as easy as possible. If you have any trouble with your access, you may contact Mark Hevland, Director of Risk Management (markh@isb.ac.th). ISB staff are also available to help with ID cards/wristbands in the foyer of the Chevron each day from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Import Message for Absent Students and Families – those who have not started school on campus yet
It is very important that the parents of any student who has not started school on campus yet completes the self disclosure forms for all family members before coming on campus. If a family has been in quarantine, completion certificates issued by the ASQ must be uploaded before coming to campus. Campus entry can only be granted if these disclosure forms have been completed and the appropriate quarantine completion certificates have been uploaded for each member of the family.
Wishing you an enjoyable and restful weekend!
Kind regards,
Andy
