Dear ISB Community,
We were really happy to welcome students back on campus after so many months. Everyone is excited and it has been great to see kids reconnect with their friends & teachers, and to see our new students making connections.
By Monday 17th August, when our 3 year olds have their first day of class together, all grade levels will be back on campus.
The students managed the new safety measures well and we are grateful for everyone’s cooperation to ensure a smooth and enjoyable start to the school year. We are working through some teething issues with the new turnstile/ID system and these will be resolved very soon.
Regretfully, we still have a number of students outside of Thailand waiting to enter the Kingdom and we have been welcoming these students virtually and ensuring that learning continues to move forward. We look forward to seeing our absent students on campus as soon as they are able to arrange travel and complete quarantine. In the meantime, if there is anything we can do for our absent families, please reach out to our divisional administrators and counselors listed below.
To our new families, whether you are in Thailand or still making your way to us, welcome to ISB! You’re joining a warm, caring, dynamic and international community here and we look forward to working with and getting to know you. If we can help in any way, please reach out. As an international school with a reasonably mobile population, we have significant expertise in helping with transitions.
To our returning families, it’s been a challenging past few months and we thank you for your ongoing support and understanding as we navigate through these complex times. It has been a joy to finally see your kids back on campus.
Most of our new teachers have been able to arrive in Thailand and are either completing their quarantine requirements or have completed them already.
We started this year once again celebrating the achievements of our 2020 graduates. You can learn more about their IB results and college acceptance information here, as well as other academic results from the school year. Kudos to the Class of 2020 for achieving so much in such a difficult year.
As the school year progresses we may face additional COVID-19 challenges, but we are well placed to adapt as needed and continue with learning whatever may arise. The situation in Thailand remains positive and we are hopeful that will continue. The Royal Thai Government has been exemplary in its handling of the pandemic and has served as a model for the rest of the world.
We wish you all the very best for this school year.
Kind regards,
Andy
