Staying Safe and Healthy: Social Distancing and Hand Hygiene

Dear ISB Community,

We continue to collect a number of resources to help us stay safe and healthy during this time. Thank you to the many parent contributors who are helping us expand this.

Below you will find a few tips and resources that cover two important actions that are important for the overall safety of our community: Social Distancing and Hand Washing.

Please share these with your whole family, household help, and also have these conversations with your friends.

Social distancing

Social distancing is the safest practice that we can all do right now to keep ourselves safe and to protect the most vulnerable in our community.

What does social distancing look like here in Thailand?

  • Remain inside your home. Leave your home only for essential activities (e.g. to seek medical care or to purchase food) and for daily exercise.
  • When you leave your homes, keep a 2m distance between people who do not live in your household
  • Replace in person socializing with virtual catch ups

We know this is most challenging for our students but it’s important for the greater good of our community and Thailand.

Hand washing

This is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and your family. Wash your hands frequently. Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth. An alcohol-based hand rub is also effective if you cannot get to soap and water.

Below are links from the WHO and CDC. Find the one most relevant for your family based on your children’s current age. WHO also have resources in multiple languages (including Thai and Burmese).
