 Grade 10

Due to the government mandated school closure, the PSAT 10 scheduled for April 28 has been canceled. The current grade 10 students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT 11 in October 2020.

Grade 11 – Student Led Junior Conferences- are continuing!!!

We are still waiting for some Juniors to sign up for their Junior Conference. Did you, as a parent, have a Junior Conference yet with your child and College Counselor?  If not, please ask your child to schedule.

SAT Information- Email from College Board

We know that students are anxious about how the coronavirus crisis will affect the college application process, including taking the SAT. We’re committed to being flexible and innovative to give all students opportunities to test as soon as the situation allows. We’ll share more details as soon as possible, but today we can tell you the following:

Currently, the next SAT is scheduled for the first weekend of June. We’ll make a decision about whether we can safely hold that administration as soon as it is feasible, given the evolving public health situation.  (This is for Subject Tests only at this time)

We’ll add U.S. and international test administrations in response to canceled administrations. We’ll be flexible in making the SAT available as soon as the public health situation allows. We’re looking at a range of creative solutions to address increased demand and are in direct conversations with states and districts about School Day administrations.

Students can stay sharp and get personalized practice support online for free with Khan Academy.

Seniors
Most university decisions were made by April 1.  Seniors should inform their College Counselor about all decisions.  Students should go onto Cialfo and update these outcomes.

Important: The student must tell the College Counselor which university he/she will attend! Students should deposit to ONE university and ISB will send one final transcript to the “attending” university.  Although most deposits are due May 1, students should check the University website, as many are extending that date.

College Counselors are emailing seniors and setting up Zoom meetings to answer any questions.

Virtual University Visits
College Counselors are sending information to students about Virtual University Visits.  We are aware of the abundance of emails and do not want to over load the parents in-box too.  Please ask your child about the virtual visits if you would also like to attend.

Screencasts Coming
We will be announcing Screencasts on varying topics for both parents and/or students.  Example- we emailed a screencast to G11 students about asking their teachers for Letters of Recommendation.  College Coffee Screen Casts are coming toward the end of April, beginning of May. These will include applying to the: UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and the Netherlands.

Please do not hesitate to email your College Counselor if you have any questions.
