Virtual School Feedback from Parents:

Dear Parents,
It certainly has been a different week for all of us with the school campus being closed and virtual schooling introduced. You have already received a number of communications in recent days with updates about our situation, plans for mock exams for seniors and student expectations for virtual school etc so I will avoid repeating that information today.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we continue to adjust and improve the virtual school experience for your children. We are seeking feedback from students, teachers, and parents to help us improve this experience. Students in HS, MS and Grade 4 and 5 are giving us feedback already and now we would like to hear from parents.
We ask that you please take a few moments to complete this survey so that we can continue to adjust and amend our protocols and procedures for the coming week.
If you have more than one child in the HS, you can complete the form twice if you wish. If you have a child in the MS or ES, please use the link in their E News bulletins today.
Thank you again for taking the time to complete this survey. If you can complete this survey by Sunday noon that would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Justin Alexander

Student Led Junior Conferences
Ask your student about the emails they received about a Google Meet (Hangouts) to schedule this meeting.
The Student Led Junior Conference are individual meetings that include the student, parents and college counselor. These should be scheduled during March and April. Please ask your child about these meetings and identify several possible dates/times for the conference.
Junior University Research
Juniors should continue doing university research and making notes in their Building My University List spreadsheet sent to them in February.
Seniors
Most university decisions will be made by April 1. Seniors should inform their College Counselor about all decisions. Students should go onto Cialfo and update these outcomes.
Important: The student must tell the College Counselor which university he/she will attend! Students should deposit to ONE university and ISB will send one final transcript to the “attending” university.
NEW DATES: Upcoming College Coffees
March 31 UK & Hong Kong MPB 3
April 2 Australia, Canada, the Netherlands MPB 3
Summer Programs
If students are interested in summer programs, now is the time to start researching. Please see this LINK for a database of programs. Please understand it is the students (and parents) responsibility to research these programs.
Upcoming University Visits:
Many Universities have cancelled their travel plans to Southeast Asia. There are no University visits at this time.

News from Counselors:

This week our team of high school counselors have been checking in with students virtually, via the phone, or by email. We are looking to continue to support the emotional needs of our students during these times. We have been sharing resources and gathering data to see which students may be really struggling emotionally or with the demands of the virtual expectations. Please reach out to us if you have concerns with how your son or daughter is handling the current situation.
We know it can be overwhelming the amount of communication and info being provided by different parts of our world every day at the moment. That said, we will just share 2 resources here today. The first has some elements that may be more appropriate for younger children, but most of the suggestions can be applied to adolescents.

Mrs. McMillan has shared with students and parents an updated timeline of course selection and events supporting this. We have been creating this week recorded presentation sessions to share information and will provide a live document where you can ask any questions for us to get back to you with.
