IASAS Cultural Convention at ISB

IASAS Cultural Convention @ ISB – March 6!!! Despite the sad news that students from IASAS schools will not be able to travel to participate in IASAS Music, FAD, and DDT events in Bangkok, Taipei and Singapore respectively, we have put together an extravaganza of sorts to celebrate all three CC areas right here at home!!! More details to follow, but plan to attend ISB’s first ever IASAS Combined Dance.Drama.Tech. Forensics.Debate.Music Cultural Convention on March 6!!!  On that Friday join the 70 plus ISB delegates in the CC Building to hear their 35 musical presentations, 12 forensics speeches, 2 dance and drama performances, and at least 2 debates (depending on the outcome of the first 4 virtual rounds held Wednesday afternoon, and all day Thursday, March 4 and 5, in the MPB’s). HS classes are invited to attend all scheduled events as are parents and community members. To the many families who had generously volunteered to house visiting musicians before IASAS Music CC was cancelled – THANK YOU!!!

Campus Closure for February Break

As a matter of information, the ISB campus will be closed to all community access, Saturday and Sunday, February 22nd and 23rd.  There are two major electrical projects happening, internally and externally, which will shut off power to campus.  Because of this, there will be no lighting, running water, or emergency systems available.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you have a relaxing February break.

Campus will be open for community use again Monday, February 24th through Sunday, March 1st.

Bidding a Fond Football Farewell

Dear Students and Parents,

I am writing to announce that due to their recent acquisition of a large downtown football complex and the coaching staff required to run it, Bangkok FC Academy has recently decided to withdraw from its coaching support of Panthers FC Academy along with all coaching programs at ISB effective August, 2020. Although a huge loss for ISB, we are pleased to announce that the Premier Football Academy, or PFA, has agreed to run Panther Soccer next fall.   In the words of Stuart Welham, Head of Bangkok FC,

“Having worked in partnership for 15 years, first with the recreational league and then the academy program, this was a hard decision for us. We have enjoyed great success in helping develop footballers each year at ISB and remain committed through the end of the school year to the players we are coaching. We are also committed to working with PFA this spring to create a seamless transition between providers and to ensure a successful hand off next fall. We would like to thank the numerous people we have worked with over the years – teachers, parents and players – and wish everyone the best for the future.”

Although a big chapter change in our fifteen year partnership, we too look forward to future opportunities for ISB and BFC to work, and play (football) together. Once a Panther, always a Panther!!!

Regards,

Anthony & Lucas

NBBL in ISB

We are pleased to announce that  Top Flight Basketball will take over management of the NBBL this season. They helped by coaching teams last year, but will be much more involved in coordination of the league this year.

From Top Flight: “Our goal is to run a professional, organized league where students will benefit from experienced professionals who share a passion for the game of basketball. In addition to teaching and reinforcing the essential fundamentals of the game, we also emphasize the importance of teamwork, self-confidence, friendship, and sportsmanship.”

The NBBL is a community basketball league open to students ages 3-18 years (PreK 1 to Grade 10) of all skill levels. The season consists of an 8-week regular season and championship tournament at the end of the season.

Please have a look at some of the new features of the league this season. Click HERE to find more information.
