On Tuesday, February 11th, at 9:30 AM, ourMS Counseling and Admin team will host a MS Parent Coffee on the topic of: “When Kids are Mean: How to support your child in dealing with rumors, gossip and relational aggression”.
Parenting adolescents can be a difficult endeavor, as middle school-aged students begin to value social interactions over family, test out behaviors amongst peers, and try on new friendships or social groups – all completely natural for this stage of their brain development. All of this is made more complicated by ubiquitous social media.
Our session will focus on what parents can do when their child feels a loss of control about what’s being said about them, who is saying it, and what their options are. Additionally, it might be our own child “being mean.”
We hope that parents will join us for this MS Parent Coffee to discuss and share ways that we can support our children.
