Feb 10 – No School for Students 

On February 10th, Thailand recognizes Maka Bucha Day. ISB will be closed to students on this day and teachers will engage in professional development.

BISAC Season 3 tryouts for MS Students 

Interested athletes should attend at least 2 tryouts to be eligible to be selected for the team. We would like to keep as many players as possible within our program however, we must consider league caps on roster sizes, the ideal number to achieve potential and our own facility capacity, but we will try and run B teams for U13 Volleyball this season if there is enough interest. 

Athletes are allowed to combine team sports with Track & Field, but they have to communicate this clearly with both coaches.  

Athletes can just show up for the first practice and register with their coach.

IASAS Forensics and Debate CC Showcase

IASAS Forensics and Debate delegates are excited to showcase their talents for the ISB community! Please join the Debate Teams in MPB1 on Wednesday, February 5th as they hash out the finer points behind the motion: THBT: Feminists should reject chivalry. What’s your opinion on the matter? We are expecting a fun-filled event with a chance for you, the audience, to participate and cast your vote to decide a winner. After that, join members of the dynamic Forensics Team, also in MPB1, on Thursday, February 6th as they present their speeches in the categories of Oral Interpretation, Original Oratory, Impromptu, and Extemporaneous Speaking. Come support our IASAS delegates and listen to impressive speeches that will have you laughing, crying and contemplating life. The performances are free of charge and all are invited. 

 IASAS Music CC Showcase Performances 

The annual ISB CC Music Showcase Performances will be held in the MS/HS Choir Room on both Tues. Feb. 11th and Wed. Feb. 12th beginning at 2:45 pm. Delegates from the four music areas, choir, band, strings and piano, will be performing their solos and ensembles which they will also perform at the Cultural Convention here in Bangkok in early March (6 &7) for adjudication. Audience members may come and go throughout the program between performances as necessary. Come out and support our wonderful music students as they prepare for the 2020 Music Cultural Convention at ISB. The recital is free of charge and all are welcome. 

Repeat Announcement: 2020 ISA Testing 

On February 3 and 4,  all Grade 7 students will take the International Schools Assessment (ISA) in Mathematical Literacy, Reading, and Writing.  The assessments will take place between 7:20 and 10:30 on the morning of both days. 

ISB conducts external standardized testing periodically in order to review or programs and compare ourselves to like-minded schools, evaluate the effectiveness of our curriculum, and monitor student progress and trends across the school.  At ISB, the ISA is administered in grades 3, 5, 7 and 10.
