Happy New Year

Air Quality Update and Information

We have seen increased AQI (Air Quality Index) readings on campus over the past few days and we expect that the AQI will continue to fluctuate during the colder months of January and February. Through our monitoring systems, we can see that the levels on campus tend to be highest in the morning and then decrease quite fast as the day continues.

To ensure the health and safety of our community, we have invested over 20 million baht to fit each and every classroom on campus with a well-tested and effective “positive pressure” air filtration system. These systems keep the PM2.5 air pollutant level averages well under 10 mg/m3 during regular operating hours, while also taking into consideration other concerns such as carbon dioxide levels. We are also having the same positive air filtration systems installed in our multi-purposes spaces such as the gymnasiums and health clinic.

All Early Childhood and Elementary School classrooms have been fitted with these air filtration systems and installation into the Middle School and High Schools classrooms will be completed within January 2020.

While we invest in improving the air quality indoors, we also continue to enforce our Air Quality Guidelines, that ensure reduced exposure to harmful pollutants when students are outdoors. Our Air Quality Guidelines adjust school activities as needed based on pollution levels.

Our various monitors on campus measure PM2.5, PM10, CO2, temperature and humidity. An online dashboard provides real-time data for each classroom. In addition to monitoring indoor air quality, we track outdoor conditions with an advanced Thermal Fisher ADR 1500 air quality monitor that feeds air quality readings and other data to our website to inform our whole community.
